Description
What is PRP with ACD & GEL & Calcium Chloride?
Calcium chloride is a chemical used to prepare platelet-enriched plasma (PRP). It is a colorless crystal with strong hygroscopicity and solubility. Calcium ions are considered to be one of the important factors in promoting platelet aggregation and activation during PRP preparation. Therefore, adding an appropriate amount of calcium ions can enhance the biological effect of PRP. Calcium chloride PRP tubes are widely used in medical fields such as orthopedics, dentistry, and plastic surgery to promote tissue repair and regeneration. Some clinicians suggest that adding a small amount of calcium chloride can help reduce the burning/tingling sensation that many patients experience when injecting PRP. This phenomenon can be explained by the effect of calcium chloride solution on the pH of PRP. The combination of calcium chloride and thrombin produces platelet-rich fibrin. Calcium chloride inhibits the citrate that allows plasma to coagulate, while thrombin polymerizes fibrin to produce a coagulated gel. This combination can produce a soft gel that can be applied in the operating room to increase wound healing after surgery. Platelets within the soft gel degranulate and release growth factors into surrounding tissues, which promote angiogenesis, chondrogenesis, and collagen secretion.
The extraction process:
Step 1: First, prepare all the necessary consumables for the operation, including anticoagulant collection vessels, rubber tubes, disinfectant, cotton swabs, syringes, long needles, 30G needle fungal gauze, etc.
Step 2: Blood is drawn. Peripheral blood is collected through the conventional blood drawing process, approximately 10ml, mixed thoroughly with the anticoagulant in the blood collection tube.
Step 3: The first centrifugation is performed by placing the collection vessel into a centrifuge, preferably a tilt centrifuge. After adjusting the slope to cover a large area for easy extraction, the centrifugation speed is set to 2500 rpm. After centrifugation, the vessel is removed, and obvious stratification can be observed, with serum in the upper layer, platelets in the middle, and red blood cells in the lower layer.
Step 4: Repeat the first centrifugation step to ensure complete separation of components. The centrifugation parameters remain the same.
Step 5: Perform the second centrifugation. The second collection vessel is centrifuged at 3200 rpm for 8 minutes. After centrifugation, the vessel is removed.
Step 6: Approximately PRP is extracted using a 1ml syringe, completing the entire extraction process.
Advantages in facial application:
Skin regeneration and repair: The rich growth factors and cytokines in PRP promote the regeneration and repair of skin cells, improving facial skin texture and reducing wrinkles and imperfections.
Enhanced skin elasticity: PRP stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness, resulting in a more youthful facial contour.
Promotes healing: PRP application accelerates the healing process for facial postoperative or damaged skin areas, reducing swelling and scarring, and improving overall skin recovery speed.
Natural beauty enhancement: PRP is a natural treatment method without external additives, avoiding reliance on artificial fillers or chemical components, aligning with the preference for natural beauty enhancement.
Personalized treatment: PRP extraction uses the patient’s blood, enabling personalized treatment while avoiding immune rejection or other adverse reactions.
